Laurence O'Halloran, M.D., Medical Director
Dr. O'Halloran received his undergraduate degree, B.S in Anthropology-Zoology, from the University of Michigan. He earned his medical degree from the University of Michigan where he graduated with Honors. He served his Internship in General Surgery at George Washington University and completed his residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at the Barnes Hospital / Washington University program in St. Louis. He is certified by both the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery and the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Dr. O’Halloran has published research articles in a variety of peer-reviewed journals and presented his research findings at national meetings. His personal interests include biking, boating and computer programming.
Timothy Egan, M.D.
Dr. Egan received his medical degree from The George Washington University where he graduated with distinction. He completed his residency training in otolaryngology at The Boston University Medical Center where he severed as Chief Resident. He is Board Certified in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and is the Residency Site Director for the George Washington University Otolaryngology Residency program at the INOVA Fairfax Hospital. Dr Egan enjoys treating children and adults with particular interest in endoscopic sinus surgery, treatment to chronic ear diseases and surgery of the neck. He was raised in Montgomery County and currently lives with his wife and four children.
Heinz Scheidemandel, M.D.
Dr. Scheidemandel is board certified in otolaryngology and head and neck surgery. Originally from Germany, Dr. Scheidemandel completed his residency training at the University of Colorado, in Denver and Baylor University, in Houston Texas. Dr. Scheidemandel has been in practice since 1964. His hobbies include sailing and hiking.
Gena Marino, Au.D, completed her Doctorate in Audiology from Salus University in Elkins Park, PA. She earned a Master’s degree in Audiology from Wayne State University in Detroit, MI and a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University in 2000. Dr. Marino is certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology. She is licensed by the state of Virginia to dispense Hearing Aids and is certified to recommend and fit all levels of amplification. Dr. Marino has a strong interest in treating the adult population with hearing loss. Her hobbies include traveling, cooking, and reading. Dr. Marino is fluent in Russian.
Kelly Roma, Au.D, joined Fairfax Hearing Center in May 2013. She earned her Doctor of Audiology degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo in May 2008, her Master of Arts degree in Audiology from SUNY at Buffalo in 2007, and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders from SUNY Fredonia in 2004. Dr. Roma completed an internship at a hearing aid manufacturer leading to her doctoral research project concerning hearing aids in third world countries. Her work with Central Auditory Processing Disorders has been published in the SSW Reports. Dr. Roma's clinical interests include: diagnostic hearing assessment of adults and children, hearing aid fitting and follow-up, vestibular and electrophysiological testing and central auditory processing evaluations. She is currently recognized as a Fellow and is Board Certified in Audiology by the American Academy of Audiology.
